Read preview"You look like Clara Bow in this light" is how Taylor Swift begins the closing track of the standard edition of her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," which was released on Friday. But beyond what she's been told by others, by naming the song "Clara Bow," Swift appears to be signaling an affinity with the original "It" girl whose career reached its apex almost a century ago. Ultimately, for Sisneros and Bell, Swift's immortalization of their great-grandmother in "Clara Bow" is a gift they can hand down to future generations. A sex symbol is a heavy load to carry when one is tired, hurt, and bewildered," Bow is quoted as saying in Stenn's biography, "Clara Bow: Runnin' Wild." Advertisement"I feel like she would say the same thing about Taylor," Bell concluded.

Read previewWhen my daughter, Clara, arrived a few weeks earlier than her due date, I was mostly relieved that she was healthy and I'd gotten an epidural in time. It wasn't until a few years later that I realized her mid-September birthday meant she'd narrowly miss the cutoff for kindergarten admission. In many places around the country—including my town — children must be 5 years old by September 1 to start school. Hadn't I considered the repercussions for Clara later on? No one gets through adolescence without some drama and self-doubt, but Clara recently told me she's glad I didn't hold her back.

SAO PAULO, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Latin American fintech Clara has launched a payment account in Brazil that it expects will help it reach 6 billion reais ($1.23 billion) in transactions in 2024, the firm said on Tuesday, as it eyes growth in the region's largest economy. Clara, which also provides corporate cards and expense management solutions, said the new product would allow clients in Brazil to expand their payment methods, adding bank slips and express wire transfers (TEDs) to its traditional credit card. Clara announced in August it was moving its headquarters from Mexico to Brazil after obtaining a central bank license to operate as a payment institution there, allowing it to launch the so-called 'Clara Conta'. Clara's credit card already accounts for annual transactions of over a 1 billion reais in Brazil alone, and the company says operations have been doubling in size every six months. REUTERS/Pilar Olivares/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsSAO PAULO, Nov 23 (Reuters) - Organisers of the Brazilian leg of Taylor Swift's "The Eras Tour" acknowledged on Thursday they could have taken more measures to help fans cope with the extreme heat they faced last week in Rio de Janeiro. T4F's (SHOW3.SA) statement follows a last-minute postponement of Swift's performance last Saturday in Rio due to record breaking heat after a fan died in the sweltering conditions a day earlier. "We recognise we could have taken some alternative actions in addition to all the others we have done," T4F Chief Executive Serafim Abreu said in a video posted on social media. On the first night of Swift's tour in Rio last Friday, 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides fell ill and later died in hospital. The extreme conditions led the U.S. pop star to postpone her concert the following day just two hours before she was to go on stage.

They argue that geopolitical tensions between the West and China risk the reliable supply of rare earth minerals. Aclara's Barua said that Western supply of rare earth elements will not develop if it depends on Chinese prices. "The price of any metal (rare earth or otherwise) that is coming from China or from western countries has the same pricing, so why should rare earth pricing be different?" The discussion on pricing has come up often in the Rare Earth Industry Association, said Veluri, who is also the president of the global organization with partners representing the whole rare earth value chain. "But for things like cobalt, copper, or rare earth metals there is a good strategic play to find with a mining partner."

A new study shows Levi's Stadium generated $2 billion for the local economy in its first 10 years. More than $300 million was brought in before Levi's Stadium opened and was used to help pay for its construction. Her two concerts at Levi's Stadium in July are estimated to have generated a total of $33.5 million in economic impact for the area. AdvertisementAdvertisementGuido thanked the citizens of the Bay Area in a letter and lauded the economic impact study in a statement. Before the Levi's Stadium analysis, most earlier studies showed the impact of a stadium rarely lives up to the promises of the teams.

Students were regularly subjected to sexual harassment by Hall, two former students told me. “I feel like so many of us were victims to the culture,” one former Rosemead student told Insider. Manipulation by a trusted adult has been passed like a virus to generations of Rosemead students. We wondered aloud whether Masiello had harassed our mother the same way he'd done to generations of Rosemead students.
